Saturday June 19, 2010: Full-Cirlce Food Systems Workshop in the Bernice Gardens from 3-5pm.
This workshop will address sustainable food systems from farm to compost pile, including sustainable production, distribution and consumption trends and why a sustainable food system is advantageous. The goal of the workshop is to explore challenges and opportunities leading to the development of sustainable food systems. Everyone is welcome to join the discussion. Tuesday June 22, 2010: Free Home Energy-Efficiency Traings for North Little Rock Organizations at the North Little Rock Home Depot at 11:30am. The City of North Little Rock and the North Little Rock Home Depot will provide free home energy-efficiency training to members of civic and faith-based organizations. Thursday July 8, 2010: If you are interested in showcasing your artwork, handcrafts, music, books, produce, catering or community group at 2nd Fridays Art in the Park or the Saturday Bernice Garden Art Market, come to the orientation meeting at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 8 at Village Commons (1423-C South Main St). Friday July 9, 2010: 2nd Friday Art in the Park at Bernice Garden from 5-8pm. Enjoy a variety of work all from Arkansas artists in downtown Little Rock’s most beautiful urban garden. This outdoor market is open to the public and features art, crafts, jewelry, pottery and apparel as well as performances by local musicians, actors and folklorists, locally-grown produce and food vendors, and information and donation booths by community groups. Look out for more information closer to the date.
