Good News for April
Most of you, I am sure have heard the good news for Village Commons during the last couple of weeks. Lots of good news but two things stand out for this organization.
Because of the hard work of Kerri Sernel we are receiving a grant from New Futures and Sally, Mike, and I are went last week to get a better understanding of how we can use this grant for capacity building for VC.
Two weekends ago we received half of the donations at the Easter sunrise service. Our part of these donations was $2500.00 and all of this will go back into our programming. Specifically, $1100.00, will be used for garden development and teaching, and another $1100.00 will be used for Healthy Communities development and teaching.
Along with these two areas of focus we have a number of other initiatives we are considering or have planned to be a part of, that are taking place in our communities. We have plenty of positive opportunities for community development and support.
